Coloured LED light has been around much longer than white light, because LEDs shine in red, green or blue: it has only been possible to develop white light from these basic components for a few years. In the meantime, however, technology has come a long way: not only is white LED light now also perceived as warm and friendly, whereas in the past most LED lamps seemed cool and uncomfortable. Even white LED lamps can now change their light colour so that the same luminaire can produce warm white, neutral white and daylight white light as required.
Adjustable LED Colour Temperature
There are millions of different colour tones, and it is also true for light colours that a basic tone such as white comprises countless gradations. The colour of light is described by the so-called colour temperature, a slightly confusing but meaningful term at first. The different white light colours have different effects; a distinction is made between a warm white, a neutral white and a daylight white range.
